A week or so ago, I was talking with my 11-year-old son about what I was learning in The Plant Paradox. It has a pretty extensive description of the ways our food production industry and personal care products are having a negative impact on our health. He was very interested as he likes biology and cares a lot about health.
After taking it all in for a day or so, he said: “Sometimes, I wish I had not learned that.” And I know what he meant. The information can be overwhelming, and we need to keep a lot of information in mind to make healthy choices. Plus, some of the healthy choices don’t taste as good as the unhealthy choices.
This is similar to what I see with a lot of business owners. They hope for new business, much like many people hope for good health. They may take some action here or there, but there is no effort to create a system. What they really need to do is learn as much as they can, or hire a guide, to build the systems necessary for growing their businesses.
To build a system to grow your business, you need to answer the following questions:
Is my message clear and does it resonate with the right prospects?
How do I attract prospects into my universe?
Once they enter my universe, how do I stay in touch until they are ready to buy?
If you can address these three things, you will have a system in place that generates a consistent flow of new business. And, you can continue to refine and improve each piece of the process to get ever better results.
So, are you learning what you need to know and applying it to grow your business? If not, what is stopping you? If you cannot consistently bring in new business, you are leaving your success to “luck.”
And in case you are wondering, my family is starting on a new food regimen and we have replaced our unhealthy personal care products with benign ones so that we can work towards better health. Because I do want to know and take action, even when it seems hard. And the good news is that it gets easier with practice.
