Play to your strengths

During a mastermind call with other business owners and marketing professionals, we got on the topic (as we often do) of lead generation. Craig, who has one of the most successful businesses in the group, was giving Kevin some advice on how to generate more leads through LinkedIn. He reaches out to them via a customized connection request. For those who connect, he follows up with a message to schedule a phone call. And this has been successful for Craig. The problem was that Kevin was never going to take Craig’s advice, because Kevin doesn’t like calling people he does not know. In lead generation, as in much of business, there is no “right” way to do things. What you want to figure out is what works best for you. Some people are really good at cold calling, or calling a moderately warm lead. If my business success required that I cold call people, I would probably be back to working for someone else pretty quickly. Thankfully, it does not require any cold calling...to a large degree because I built it that way. How are you generating new leads? Make sure whatever system (and it really should be a system) you create plays to your strengths. If it is a good fit for you, it is going to be more enjoyable and not feel like a task to avoid. So, it will get done more often. That is why I write a weekly newsletter. :) Want to generate a consistent flow of leads? If you are looking to generate a consistent flow of leads for your business, we can help you build a Perfect Lead Engine. We help you figure out who to target, how to target them, and use a method to reach them that is a good fit for you (or we can do it for you). If that sounds interesting,

to schedule a time to talk. We would be happy to see if there is a good fit.
